Will be interesting to see how he does and if he likes Oval Racing more then Road Racing, or will he race both frequently. Great to have him around.

I bet he doesn't use a clutch

Our Canadian F1 champion has an uncle named Jacque Villeneuve who raced in CART, winning a race at Road America in 1985.

That's good. I find it funny people doubted it was him because of the US location. Remember guys he has been giving NASCAR a shot. So living in the US would make sence. Also while he has property in Montreal or somewhere in Quebec he is rarely there. The media would not leave him alone I imagine. As far as I understand he's main residence has always been in Monaco.

Going by what George said, it doesn't surprise me that it's the real JV. Heck, even I haven't bothered enough with rFactor to go as far as hosting my own races.

Tim verified it is the Jacque Villeneuve.

My guess is he'll get fast in due time. Also, his last race in the Solstice he had zero incidents, so maybe he's just crusing to get his 4.0 Skippy license. Plenty of time for him to get fast and I'm sure he will be. I've heard he's pretty good in open wheel. Something about winning an F1 World Championship or something like that...

I think it's awesome he's getting out there having fun. He moved way up my list of favorite drivers as a result!

I'd like to see him in IRL, but hope does well in Nascar if that's what he wants to do.

To this day he still has the best pass, in my books, that I have ever seen. It was the French GP when he passed Shummy on the outside going up the hill to the hairpin.

And his dad Gilles was pretty good too...

This clip is one of the most exciting ever in F1 history...

Absolutely incredible!

I read that when asked what wheel Jacque was using he stated he was using an Xbox controller. Come on JV setup and get a wheel.

Tim..have you won a F1 world championship your not telling us about?

Actually I was suprised like most to see him online as much as he has been. I really wouldn't want to see him become an instant Greger Huttu (how weird is it to compare a an ex F1 champ to an online racer?) but I would like to see him with a G25 and see what he can do with these cars. That was more to my point. Sorry..I wasn't being more clear as to why I post my statement.

Interesting...he's playing the heck out of the game. I was disappointed when iRacing had it's official opening that many of the racers quoted in saying how good iRacing was, were not actually using the sim (at least not online...they might just be testing).

I put each name into the driver lookup...some like Dan Gurney drove one practice, one TT and never used it (online) again. I recently put in a bunch of names from the a Star Mazda race, and came up with about 3 iRacing members, but I think only Ardoin was active - though I'm not sure where to put SM on the 'Pro' scale as it's really a feeder series, but i guess whether it's daddy or whoever, they're getting sponsored by someone.

AJ and Dale are probably the two most active top flight pros. Justin Wilson was into it for awhile but seems to have taken a break.

I was in a race with AJ last night in the rookie solstice, that was fun, I was in first after 4 people including AJ had black flags, but after leading 16 or so laps I kept seeing his name inching closer and he finally caught me and I let him by. He consistently runs 1.03s, Im stuck in the 1.04s

Still fun, he chatted a bit after the race, look forward to racing him again

I hold six F1 World Championships between 1967 and 1967.

I'm just pointing out, there's nothing wrong with using an XBOX wheel - it's just the controller. As long as it has analogue inputs, then that's all that is important. My wheel is $350 and is a PS2, PS3 and PC steering wheel.

Does JV use the Xbox pad or Xbox wheel?

Just checking system requirements :

System Requirements
# Windows XP or Windows Vista
# Hyperthreaded Intel CPU, AMD Athlon 64 CPU, or any dual-core CPU
# 128MB Pixel Shader 2.0 (ATI 9700Pro or nVidia 6600 or better); 256 MB Pixel Shader 3.0 (ATI X1600 or nVidia 6800 GT/GS or better recommended) graphics adapter
# 1 GB system RAM
# 3Gb free hard disk space
# Steering wheel and pedals required
# Microphone optional, required for voice chat

Boot him off the service!!!

(just playing Devils Advocate, I couldn't care less if he drives with the keyboard!)

By the way Tim, did Fanatec allow you to keep the 911 wheel? I remember watching a vid you made of your Mazda race with the jittery old wheel you had and god, it looked horrendous (undrivable!)
