IRL Car

Hey, I got bored after I finished Indy so I went ahead and made the cars.

These are the cars used by the IRL. They are quick (since most IRL tracks are ovals), they slide a bit, and they are fairly heavy for their size. Keep on the track or suffer major slowdown and loss of grip!

These cars are available in four different color schemes (as seen in the pic) and are about the size of a Formula.

They are best used on oval tracks, such as my recently released Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Do not complain if they look like other open-wheeled cars for GeneRally, for I give you my word as moderator that the model is my own. With the limited verticies, it is a bit difficult to be completely original in model design, but I did create on my own from scratch

[Edit] Just noticed the out of order polygons on the rear spoiler. Fixed. [/Edit]

Hey Gnome, that sure looks like the original formula. Oh,wait , it is the original formula. You mean the other cars.

Just kidding. Looks pretty good. Nice job getting the side boards on the wings.

Just tested it against my CART car and the performance difference is about right

Gnome, That may be the best looking open-wheel car for GeneRally yet! I absolutely love the wing side boards. And it looks enough different from Strava's Cart and F1's to make it stand out. Excellent job.

what i don't like is the nose being so pointed
and the wheels should be the same size if i'm not completely wrong.

Actually, I didn't even think of looking at the CART's stats at all. I looked at your NASCAR stats and played hit and miss with the settings

Here are a few of the pics I looked off when I made the model:

As you can see, the nose is pretty pointy. The front spoiler also has the side boards, but I ran out of polies for those. The tires are not the same size, I just saw one in person at Kroger or Marsh or whatever that supermarket down the street is That doesn't even look like an IRL car, K3rmit

The rear wheels are wider and slightly larger. No doubt about it

Nice pic of the Museum. I've been there about four times; there's some interesting stuff there.

They are nicely done, and performance is about right, although they seemed to push a lot at your Indy... I think the IndyCars have a bit more downforce than that.

I looked over that picture once, and now I am puzzled by it. It looks like a CART-mobile to me. Now the track to me, looks like Richmond, perhaps we could get some help on this. The thing is, I don't recall CART racing @ RIR. Strange

Yeah, plenty of downforce, but they pin the tails harder than the nose. Neutral to understeer is the way you want to tend in an openwheel car on an oval.

No, that's a fat porker IRL sled. Scott Dull in a Dallara. The quickest and easiest cue for differentiating the two types of cars is that IRL cars have airboxes, Champ Cars have open roll hoops.
