ARCA Car Import Tutorial

This shows how to create a your own team from and existing team folder, from A to Z...

You will need the DivX codecs they are free and found here. Divx is only needed to watch the video, that was the codec I used to make the video with.

Can someone help me with this. Sorry but I'm old and a noob.

I open the rar file and windows media play opens. I hear the voice but no video. I have divx.

What am I doing wrong? I really need to see how to do this.

No clue, as long as you have the new Divx it should work.

Here is basically a text version of how I did our league and it seems to work great.

Here is how I am formatting the car files....

1. File Structure:

Main League Folder is called WORL and will reside in the main Vehicle/ARCA folder along with the stock Manufactures folders----

Camery
Charger
Fusion
GrandPrix
MonteCarlo
WORL

This is how the folders should look in your Vehicle/ARCA folder.

G:\ARCA Remax\GameData\Vehicles\ARCA

The root WORL Folder is here..

G:\ARCA Remax\GameData\Vehicles\ARCA\WORL


ALL the teams folders will reside inside the WORL Folder...

Each teams cars will be placed inside a folder within the WORL folder. Your team folder should have your team name.

Example--

ARCARemax\GameData\Vehicles\ARCA\WORL\Calder_MotorSp orts

Inside your team folder you should place all your team members individual car folders. This folder is also where your teams logo will be placed. That logo will show up for each of your teams cars that are inside the Team folder. In this case the Team folder name is "Calder_MotorSports", so the tga should be named "Calder_MotorSportsLOGO.tga". TGA Size should be 150x88 pixels. This shows up in the showroom below the small spinner of your car. there is a box under your car. The left image is your teams logo, and the right logo is the series logo. That is in each individual drivers folder and has suffix SERIES.tga . TGA Size should be 150x88 pixels. I'll get more in depth on that in a little bit.

Each driver on your Team will have a folder. If you are the only person on your Team you will only have 1 driver folder, if there are say 3 drivers (Our League limit per Team is 5) on your Team then there will be 3 Driver folder inside your Team folder.

Each drivers folder should start with the "WORL" prefix and then the number of his or her car.

In this case Michael Calder is the only driver currently on his team. So his driver folder should be named "WORL78".

ARCA Remax\GameData\Vehicles\ARCA\WORL\Calder_MotorSports \WORL78

Inside the Driver folder is where you will place all your painted maps. Th maps should be named as follows:

WORL78.dds where "78" would be the number of your car. This is the main car paint.
--------
WORL78CARD.tga TGA Size should be 379x378 pixels. This is the Diver info map that is in the showroom in the top left corner. ( note: If you have it named wrong a it will not show, this also applies to all maps.)

WORL78driver.dds This is the drivers suit.

WORL78extra1.dds this is the small Logo you will see when in Cockpit view, and is on the dash above the shifter area. this is a dds and should be 128x128 pixels.

WORL78hauler.dds This is the Hauler truck that appears at some tracks, It has not been implemented yet, and should work after the next patch.

WORL78helmet.dds Your Drivers Helmet Not much to say here.

------

WORL78pitbox.dds The Pit box that shows up out in the pits area.

WORL78rims.dds The rims you see on the Car.

------

WORL78SERIES.tga This is the series logo I mentioned earlier. Must be a TGA and make it 150x88 pixels.

Next make a folder and call it : "WORL78Skins"

This is where you alternate skins will go. I suggest naming to be the same as you original paint, but then add an "_2" "_3" and so on. Right now we are only allowing 1 skin, but soon as we know all the cars are working fine I will allow you to use more.

Example:

Manufacturer="Chevy" Your car Manufacturers type.
Classes="ARCA" DO NOT CHANGE THIS LINE

That should get your car in the game the way our league did it, which does not mean its the best way, just the way I came up with.

Is there any certain plug in for photoshop you need to open these templates? I downloaded DivX and installed it. But I keep getting an error when I try to open one of the car templates in Photoshop.

Divx was just so you have to codec to watch the video I made, it should open with Windows media player, but as far as the templates, they should open with just photoshop or a version of Paint Shop Pro
