FAQ / Bugs report / Patches for the mod / Questions

We will try to begin this topic with a FAQ (in construction) and the rest could be used to report all the bugs found and the patches we or you propose. We will try to make evolve the FAQ to be the more acurate possible.

FAQ for the SCC mod Prototypes v2.38 for GTR2

1) The Toyota GT1 of Le Mans 1998 aren't in the good Le Mans Race (in 1999)

Download the Basukid patch which correct it:
http://www.gtrgt.com/modules.php?nam...; attach=3430

2) lights not activated for the Lister LMP cars

Use the Lister LMP Headlight Fix by Merlin75
http://forum.racesimcentral.com/atta...7&d=1205172485

Extract into following folder:
GTR2\Gamedata\Teams\PrototypesSCC\Lister LMP

3) The Porsche RS spyder is too close to the ground

Use this Basukid Fix for the moment:
http://forum.racesimcentral.com/atta...7&d=1205669025

Or wait the next patch, it will include wheels of the good size.

4) Where are the templates?

Here: http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=314024

5) Which cars are done or planned, from where they come from?

We have reserved the skins that some are making at this time for preventing that you're two to do the same car.
We have quoted all the authors of the skins and the 3D initial models (don't hesit if you see a mistake).

If you want to reserve a skin which isn't actually planned, post it in the topic of the mod or PM us. You can post the result here:
http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=314028
and, if you want, we will integrate them to the mod on a next release. Here is this list:
http://perfectdarkfr.free.fr/ModsPFD...s_ProtoSCC.doc

6) When you launch a race, you have a "Crash To Desktop".

Here are the four case known (except new bugs not already solved):

a) The most likely problem, you missed a track (or you haven't the good version)
See the list in the "TracksProtoSCC.txt" inserted in the mod (you have a shortcut in the launch menu)

b) For the v2.38 only: some add-ons cars you have refers to missing files/physics, it could make crashes. To prevent that, after the uninstall of previous release of the mod, delete the GTR2\GameData\Teams\PrototypeSCC directory so you will delete the previous add-on cars. Re-install the mod after. You can reinstall your add-ons car after and try if a crash will occur.

c) A lot of the tracks are beta versions, and the number of pits / number of cars on the grid that indicate their files wasn't always good for our mod (it could be due to the numbers of shadows for some, because our mod wasn't optimised in that point)
The gdb's / championships are set to solve these problems (but perhaps you will not have so much cars that you wanted for the higher configuration PCs). If you don't use them, don't be surprized.

d) Your PC is a low configuration PC --> try to select less cars.

7) Is it possible to make the hands being really on the steering wheel and don't overflow on the cockpit?

We don't know how to change the hands animation to do that correctly (3D studio animation?). If someone knows, please contact us.

Another possibility, increasing the size of the steering wheels and of the cockpits, we don't want to do that actually. You can set the steering wheel off (and no arms either) in the options, if it really disturb you.

8)How to find the tracks:

See the list in the "TracksProtoSCC.txt" inserted in the mod (you have a shortcut in the launch menu). They're all actually available at:
http://www.esport-racing.de/include....ype=4&catid=11

9)You talked on the v2.38 read-me about an AI patch for the tracks, where is it?:

There's a mistake, don't download any patch. We will do a complete patch of the v2.38 where we will list the actualised tracks so you will not need this patch (they have correct AI files now)

10) You want to select the pilot/pitcrew suit for your addon car:

On all the models, the 2 last digits correspond to the teams/pitcrew suits. So change the last 2 digits in the line Genstring in your .car whith these numbers:

Suits available actually:

http://perfectdarkfr.free.fr/ModsPFD7/Suits.doc

11) You want to add another car in the mod:

With:
- XXXX=ALMS or LEMANS or LMES
- YY=year
- ZZZZ=car category
LMP1
LMP900
LMP0 ------------> LMP category (LM97/LM99/ALMS99-00)
LMGTP ------------> GTP/LMGTP category (LM00-03/LMES03)
LMP2 ------------> (same years than LMP1)
LMP675 ------------> (same years than LMP900)
LMGT2
LMGT1 ------------> (same years than GT2)
LMGTS
LMGT0 ------------> GT category (same years than GTS)
WSC ------------> Le MANS 1996 only

In the "Classes" row of the .car file of the car you want to add, add these categories:

a) FULL (when all the cars are selected)

b) car type:
(if it's another model, it's up to you to see what to use as car type):
AUDIR8 = Audi R8/R8R
BENTLEYSPD8 = Bentley Speed 8
BMWLM = BMW V12 LMR/LM
CADILLACLMP = Cadillac LMP00/01/02
COURAGEC60 = Courage/Pescarolo C60
COURAGEC65 = Courage C65
DALLARA = Dallara LMP / Chrysler LMP
DOMES101 = Dome S101
FERRARI333 = Ferrari 333SP
LISTERLMP = Lister LMP
LOLAB160 = Lola B01-60/MG Ex257
LOLAB2K10 = Lola B2K10
LOLAB2K40 = Lola B2K40/40b/42
LOLAB9810 = Lola B98-10
MERCEDESCLR = Mercedes CLR
NISSANR391 = Nissan R391
PANOZLMP = Panoz LMP01/01 Evo/07
PILBEAMMP = Pilbeam MP84/91
PORSCHESPYDER = Porsche RS Spyder/Evo
REYNARD = Reynard 01Q/2KQ
RILEYSCOTTMK3 = Riley Scott MkIIIc
TOYOTAGT1 = Toyota GT-One
WRLMP = WR LMP01/LMP02
ZYTEK04 = Zytek04S/DBA4 03S/Reynard02S
ZYTEK06 = Creation CA06-H

c) XXXX_ZZZZ_YY

d) XXXX_LMP_YY or XXXX_GT_YY if the car is a prototype or a GT (the GTP are prototypes)

e) XXXXYY

f) SCCYY

As an example, an AudiR8 in the Mans 2004:
FULL, AUDIR8, LEMANS_LMP1_04, LEMANS_LMP_04, LEMANS04, SCC04

A list is here if it's more easy to understand for you:

Generalities:
If you find a bug, to help us to find a correction, do this:

1) Launch GTR2 with these options: GTR2.exe -trace=1000

2) After a GTR2 "Crash To Desktop", post in the forum the "trace.txt" file in the "GTR2\userdata\log" directory.

3) Post screenshots on which we see the problem:
use F12 in race (PrintScreen and paste in your paint software in the menus/showroom) and take the files on the GTR2 directory: GRAB_XXX.BMP

4) Describe the most clearly the bug.

5) Indicate:
- the level of details selected for you and AI cars,
- the championship concerned (if the problem is associated to one)
- do you use only LMP's or GT's added
- number of max cars selected.

6) Verify you have the good version of the mod, and you have done a good installation (have you uninstalled the previous release?).

There are errors on this list as I said here (perhaps Stalk3r could correct his post?):

I hope this is a place to ask a question, as the title says:

Will there be an Audi R8C made for this mod...the car that ran in 1999 Le Mans for Audi Sport UK, really great looking coupe.

just a small one,

will it be possible to either make the cars ride hight greater, or for you to change the location of the model in relation to the wheels becasue the bentley speed 8 and Audi R8 bottom out alot at Nordschleife and that's with the cars at maximum spring rates, maximum ride height and maximum packers!

see vidieo here to looks at what i'm talking about: http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showpost.php...9&postcount=13

Those cars aren't made for racing on Nordschleife The limits are woorking on normal flat tracks, so more room for setup-changes isn't "real". But I think, PO911 can give more room.

- Somebody has begun work on this car (laurent Cholet) , so don't loose hope

- Soundman, Basukid is right, Nordshleiffe is a particular track (nearly mountain track )where the prototypes never race. So it's normal if the rideheight isn't adapted. But if someone want to propose a patch with higher rideheight for special tracks, that's ok (but we won't use it in the official mod)

And some corrections done (it's perhaps the time to release an official patch):

- The Bentley are corrected with good interior shadows and rain on the windscreen (as for the Mercedes CLR and Toyota GT One)

- The Porsche RS Spyder Evo is corrected with wheels of the good size, good rideheight and good shadows (Size resized with the radius of the .tyr files, nul graphical offset else the shadows aren't good, graphical modification not visible for you that permit GTR2 to think he is riding low as the hdc set it).

See here for shots:

The track list descriptions don't match what is actually available at eSport Racing, for some tracks anyway.

eg track list shows for Long Beach:

ICR2.Long.Beach.v0.1.GTR2

but at eSport I have a choice of:

Long Beach 2003-2004 v1.0
27.10.2007 von Area91

Track for GTR? - Long Beach 2003-2004 / USA v1.0 converted from rFactor by *Area91*

or

Long Beach 1979 v2.0
17.01.2007 von eSR Reporter

Track for GTR? - Long Beach 1979 / USA created by DutchDevil - new version with some updates - great track

Which one do I use, or does it matter.

There are others that don't match too but I haven't been through the whole list in detail yet.

You're absolutly right. And the patch v2.30 for the AI don't exist so.
Here is the list of the tracks that will be used for the next patch v2.39 (I think the next week, it stay some modifications to do on the physics). The championships are modified to accord to these.

These version of the tracks won't need any AI patch.

Just a couple of minor niggles.

The PILBEAMMP class is clashing with the AM class the game uses for American Muscle. I wouldn't call the Pilbeam a muscle car.

Also the BMWLM, FERRARI and PORSCHESPYDER classes are conflicting with the BMW, FERRARI and PORSCHE classes that the game uses for BMW = Bavarians, FERRARI = The Prancing Horse and PORSCHE = Porsche Posse. Do we realy need prototypes in these classes?

Like I said minor niggles and I can always edit my own installation of the mod.

Good remark. We will fix it. But it wants to say that we need to change the classes for all the Ferrari / BMW / PORSCHE. We are lucky that there's not for the Audi's (about 50 Audi R8). For the AM class, I haven't seen no original championship that use it. It's a pity to use only two letters for a class !!! ok, I will do it so.

The AM class is in the SIM_Specials.gdb, and your right about a class only having two letters, the AM class clashes with so many other add-on cars.

As for the BMW, Ferrari and Porsche classes, some people might like all the models of their respective manufactures in the game to be in those classes, including the prototypes. I just wanted to bring it to your attention; it?s totally up to you and the team if you want to edit your classes.

It's done. Too late. I prefer that our classes are enough specific. As this, we won't be in the classes the users don't want, and it's the original classes so I don't want to perturb the custom races.

When you find out, mention it to Audi and Acura. They think the Spyders are too fast as well.

Sounds?

I have a question regarding the sounds.. Last time I played this mod (v2.32.) I was quite dissapointed with the sounds.. Are you planning to do (at least some) sounds for these cars?

We have used the original sounds of the mod for the majority.
The RS Spyder sounds needs to be redone for me but we haven't created "on the scratch" (by beginning to zero) any of these sounds. So if somebody can make it, he will be welcome.
Of which sounds do you speak?

I don't think that the Spyder is too fast, as far as acceleration and top speed. Per the ALMS website,

http://www.americanlemans.com/assets...ompetition.pdf

LMP2 cars are good for up to 180-200mph. What "I" think "may" be wrong, or rather "a little off", is the amount of grip via the tires, or downforce, "vs. the other cars in the mod".

In real life however many of the drivers at this year's Sebring have stated that they have as much downforce, or more, than the IRL/CART cars they had previously driven...something to think about. Maybe the spring rates could be reduced to match other LMP2 cars? Though I don't know what the "real-life" rates are and how the mod came to have what it has.

Yeah,sure...so me blasting up to sixth gear from Arnage and then keeping it in sixth all the way thrue the Porsche curves and Maison Blanche only to finally brake for the Ford chicanes is "a little off" in term's of grip? I'd say it is waaaay off...
Fun though running 3.20's at Le Mans,but far from realistic.

Riding the Merc CLR at Le Mans with the same set up(higest groundclearance thickest packers and rockhard springs) I also found that it kept bottomming out. Which probably explains why it "only" does just over 330km/h while back in '99 both the CLR and the GT-One achieved 350km/h before braking for the Playstation chicane...
