Spotter 2 Driver Name Requests (English Soundpack)

Hi everyone,

The new version of Carlo's Spotter Plugin Supports personalized driver names. Meaning that instead of refering to a driver by it's grid position, it will use it's name if there is a mp3 file defined for that driver. It supports up to around 600 driver names.

Of course people can record their own driver names, but me and Carlo were thinking that maybe some of you would want your driver names to be spoken by the same voice as the rest of your messages.

This thread was opened for Spotter 2 English Sound Pack users so that there would be a place to request driver names.

In order to save me time, please request driver names by listing them in the following manner:

[league name or requester name]
[driver exact name] "[driver name phonetic]"
[driver exact name] "[driver name phonetic]"
[driver exact name] "[driver name phonetic]"
[driver exact name] "[driver name phonetic]"


[league name or requester name] will be used to name sound packs.

[Driver exact name] must match the name you see in rFactor. It will be used as the filename and if it is not exact, Spotter will not be able to find the correct file for that driver.

[driver name phonetic] is optional. If you do not provide it, I will simply speak out the name as written in the [driver exact name] part of the list. I am asking for the phonetic name because I know that some names might not be pronounced right if you don't provide me with a phonetic. Please include phonetics in quotes so that I know where the exact driver name ends and where the phonetics start.

ok my phonetics example was bad but you get the picutre. I will try to release driver name packs as often as possible but I can't make any promise. of course, in the first few months after the release of spotter 2 I will release often but please don't ask me when you will get your files unsless i clearly have forgotten your request.

Actually Neidryder, F1 Names are already in the soundpack (2005 to 2008) Although I will re-record both Michael Shumacher and Ralf Shumacher. One guy pointed out to me that is was not exactly pronouced I was pronoucing it. Are those name ok for your 2006 names ?

Sorry when not every name is in phonetics. Reason is either that i dont know it myself or i simply cant translate is or the speaking is clear.

For me it adds realism to the Spotter when the phonetics isn't accurate. Because in real life i?m sure that many times the names are not correct spoken too.

I hope you can bring it into the spotter plugin. I use it ALWAYS and it would be great if this would be possible. Your service is very apprechiated, thank you very much.

Currently, the plugin does not support sub-directories inside the "Driver" folder. but in the next update it will. This will prevent the Driver folder from becoming a mess !

A few of the pronounciations don't seem match the Realname, this is because some drivers insist on having a weird Nick displayed but are, of course, called by their real names. The strange ones (like Hah-ness or Yo-na-tahn) are due to the fact that I tried to display the german way of pronouncing the name since they are german. I excluded the League-Prefix (FRA_) as this is never pronounced.

It has to be their in-game name... the same same that you see in the monitor windows of rFactor and that you see above the car if you press TAB.

Dave, I think for the file name as you say it has to be their full name so it can be identified by the program. My point was should the actual recording be just their surname as in real life typically commentary refers to them by this.
Really doesnt matter and I didnt mean to complicate things. Please go ahead with what you feel will suit everyone, I just appreciate your efforts.
This is fantastic for real life leagues to hear changes etc.
