Motec for GTR Evo?
I've been meaning to get around to installing this for a while. I've never used it before but you can use motec to analyze your performance per section and laps right? Is there a plugin yet for GTR Evo? If so, where can I get it and how do I start it, use it, etc?

Download and install i2 Pro version 1.03 from here:
http://www.motec.com.au/software/latestreleases/ Then you need to open your plr file and change some lines to this: Oflline Install: Data Acquisition EXE="C:\Program Files\MoTeC\i2\1.0\MoTeC.exe" Data Acquisition File="C:\GTR-Evolution\userdata\vehicledata.spt" MoTeC LogFolder="C:\MoTeC\Logged Data" Steam Install: Data Acquisition EXE="C:\Program Files\MoTeC\i2\1.0\MoTeC.exe" Data Acquisition File="C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\[Steam User Name]\race 07\UserData\vehicledata.spt" MoTeC LogFolder="C:\MoTeC\Logged Data" Here's a great thread on using Motec: http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=32733 |

I don't think that makes a difference. The track map worked for me on Mid-Ohio, and that's an add-on track.

You have to drive at least one or two COMPLETE laps, without restarting or going to the garage...I found that out because I had the same problem. The track report wont have enough telemetry to show a track map unless you complete a lap...hope that makes sense...have fun!

I had the toughest time, but I finally got it to work. There were two problems, one I found the solution in the no grip thread, the other I typed race 07 as race07 in the *.plr file, that was one error.
For whatever reason, it didn't work for me until the data log path was changed in the *.plr file to the full MoTeC program file path length, with a new folder created called 'Logged Data' in the following location c:\Program Files\MoTeC\i2\1.0\Logged Data Now, here is where it gets odd...I went to look for the files, manually, and they aren't there!!! But, the MoTeC works fine, and it definitely displays the correct laps from Evo. A search turns up the following: C:\Users\My Name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\MoTeC\i2\1.0 Which is a different path than in the *.plr file, but, as mentioned, the ld and ldx files are all there. I am running Vista Ultimate, and have a Steam online install. Sort of strange, but at least it works! |

Uhm, guys, a little help, please?
It seems that all of you have figured out how to make MoTeC function under GTRE, while I am stuck with no .ld files. I have installed MoTeC, and I have edited my .plr with the three essential lines for the steam install. All paths have been verified to be without typing errors. But where do I go from there? Is MoTeC supposed to run or not when I start GTRE? Will all kinds of practice sessions be logged, or only specific kinds? Is there a key or key combination I need to press to start/stop the logging? Or is it supposed to be automatic as long as I drive more than 2 laps? I have been driving and driving, but cannot see anything being logged... |

Data Acquisition In Race="0" Change the above line to the following: Data Acquisition In Race="1" The logs are automatic. No start or stop commands. As long as you drive a lap or two, you will get logs. Hope that helps. Last edited by gears; 17-10-2008 at 15:37. |

I always seems to get a crash anytime I have motec enabled. As soon as I run a couple of laps and go to exit it happens everytime. It actually does create a .ld file it just shows no data with it. I think I have been able to narrow this down to the line "userdata/vehicle.spt" but I am unsure of how to fix it. I even tried removing the 1.03 version of motec to use the 1.02 but still same results. Anyone have any suggestions? Only other choice is to completely back up my tracks and other information and go for a complete reinstall this weekend.

Man, I must have missed that bit of info somewhere. I am using a no cd exe so that I don't have to keep digging the cd out each time, fortunately I have the cd so that should be an easy fix. It was driving me crazy as I thought it had something to do with either my install or something I was typing incorrectly. thanks for the help!!!

To follow up on myself, now, apparently....the files are being stored in the *.plr file destination!! I have no idea what was going on, but this Vista is hard, like DOS!!! LOL. Glad it works, I did three laps at the Ring and I have never seen so many tiny little labels on a track map before, awesome!!! I really wish SimBin would have done something on the telemetry side of things, else get rid of the *.plr file references instead of teasing us ![]() Anyway, super glad it works because the MoTeC is one thing I have always found great enjoyment from with all SimBin offerings. I like the AIM stuff in netKar Pro, but find it is a bit tougher to use and get the data displayed how you want it. |
