If you still have CTD though you reinstalled and updated correctly follow again this procedure originally posted by Dave Henri (thx m8 ):

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quote:

I just found the fix on the M3 thread in the EA forums at Racesim. THe
number 12 ETCC Guest car is the problem. you can remove it or change the
names of a couple of car files.
(...)
Now open the vehicle folder for the ETCC Guest team that has the #12 car
in it. Change one line in the ETCC_12.veh to read as follows:
from the old
GenString=M312gpxa
to the new
GenString=M323gpxa
finally rename two files the etcc_12.veh file, to etcc_23.veh and the
etcc_12Icon.bmp to etcc_23Icon.bmp.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This worked for me again cause I had CTD when trying to start a Race (Testday worked).

So maybe they simply forgot to alter this in their update.

Aaahh..

The patch was meant to delete the etcc_12.veh/icon, so only 11 and 23 remained.

*sigh*

theres a problem if u are using Windows 98. Update is trying to delete ETCC_12.veh and ETCC_12Icon.bmp but it wont do it because it seems that batch file commands are not really 100% compatible with 98

There was some same kind of probs with mod pack too because it didnt launch all batch commands.

But 2000 and XP users should not have any problems at all.

It would be easier to me that everyone just install Windows XP but maybe if i have time and intrest i could make 98 compatible update...

..so in the meantime..

if u have Windows 98 u just have to try manually tweak and install the mod itself and update too.

I noticed that cars tend to behave a little erraticly after installing the update (cars go out of the track with no reason).
Same problem anyone?

Nice work, true, but sad that only a few guys (who know whats good) are hanging around at F1RST. Come on folks, this Mod rocks and its a good rehearse for upcoming things too

Thats right Cuny, raced online only and now after testing it off I see what your talking about.

At Spa I had to push the AI Strength up to 120% to make them competitive ...but all other improvements are fine.

-the Drivers and AI Wheels are still transparent(or half shown) on the backside(replay) maybe it depends on Image/Vehicles quality settings.

-At F1RST I have different (limited) cambersettings than offline.Loaded my setups(I made them completly new after Update) and wondered that the handling was so bad till I realized that the camber on all wheels was on -1.0/1.0 and that is limited to -2.5 (front value).
Is it meant that way ?(not a prob at all but Im just curious)
