Remembering Tiff...

Have anyone of you guys seen Tiff Needell's review of the M5? I tried to pay hommage to his great driving skills cooking donuts like him...

Is he the guy who made Top Gear and who made the M5 and M3 test drive? He's not of the living people?
Shame if so. He was the be test driver I've ever seen. He made some nice drifts it's so nice to see.

Actually a fun car to drive.
Need some work done on the .ini but after a few laps I got the hang of this car and I must say a fun drive.

LOL. I thougt the diffusor should increase the highspeed handling. But a wheelie bar would have been necessary!:D

Getting started on the Ring

Edit: That's some badass drift raro... :D

Mr Whippy
25-03-2003, 16:36
The Ring is soooo dark... Someone needs to calculate the position of the sun on a nice summers day at midday!

I think currently it's somewhere it couldn't possibly be... ie, the sun would have set there afaik...

It needs to be to the left and up in the sky more... alot more up in the sky :)

stecki
25-03-2003, 17:43
mr whippy, just add a few zero's to the y position of the sun in the track's special.ini (i think that's where the sun info is). i did it to my brands hatch and it's pretty.

raro, could you post your movie in another format. none of my computers ever seem to understand the asx format. course i realize it's prolly not worth the bother anyways.

Mr Whippy
25-03-2003, 18:07
sun=0 160000 90000

That position of the sun should get you a position for the 1st of July at midday, at the Ring, 2003...

Just bunged in the bits and pieces in Max, and let the sunlight put itslef in, then just got a "rough" ratio for the position!

Nice and bright and accurate now :) Seems some of the textures are a bit "overbright"... Maybe it's handy to get the sunlight right before adjusting the textures!!

Erm, the CLK rev's to 8000rpm, and the rpm gauge only reads to 7000 ;) Nevermind
