New Version V2.97
New functions and improvements:
- You can now create movement paths for every tracking camera (i-key in the camera edit mode). - You can now see the affects of 'track learning' on the AI path if you copy your track learning file into the corresponding track directory. There's a new toggle button (TL) to make this 'track learning line' visible. - Better track drawing on 'multi' tracks (tracks with different layouts in one file). - Some minor bugs removed (as every time) If you detect bugs or if you have suggestions for improvements - let me know, I will try to implement these. |

Thanks for working on this tool, i think its useful in many ways. I like to use the editor as a quick look viewer for aiw.
I would like to have the AUX, teleport and alt grid positions plotted on the track map, with a toggle to display them. thank you greg

@ gringosan:
Good idea: I will implement it in the next version, but as you say only the plotting not editing them. Stay tuned for next version. @ david42_fr: As far as I know, there is no place where ALL parameters were described. My knowledge is out of a variety of forums, AIW-File comments and "try and error". Maybe anyone else knows a good place. |

Teleport and AltGrid positions can now be edited. Bugs removed: Branch into and out of the Pits was not plotted. Other minor bugs. This update took a longer time because I was in vacation, sorry. But now - have fun. |

can this tool be used to create AIW from scratch? If so, are there instructions to do this?

No, unfortunately not. It's only for editing existing AIW and CAM files.

Since users of this tool obviously already know lots about the cameras and ways to edit the CAM file, this seems like the best place to ask a NOOB question:
I'm building tracks with Bob's Track Builder, but BTB only gives you one camera postion, anchored to the first node you put down when you lay out a new track, I believe. What tool do I use to ADD cameras all the way around my tracks that I can then edit with your tool? Is it just a matter of finding the right X/Y/Z coordinates and entering additional lines in the CAM file with a text editor, or do you have to place objects in the track file using 3DS Max or 3DSimEd? If you can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. |

powerslider..
check this out for adding cams: http://forum.racesimcentral.com/atta...8&d=1124152953 its the camera toolbox for F1C. Uzzi suggested it to me and it works great.. also you could just copy another cam file and use Guitarmaens tool to move them around based on your aiw file.. |

sounds great powerslider!! with the camera toolbox, as long as you have your aiw file with at least your main driving path, you can add as many cameras as you want covering the entire track..good luck!

With the zip file comes a file named "rF_AIW_CAM.conf". Inside you can edit the X and Y dimensions of the window. It looks like:
WindowX=1570 WindowY=1140 The .hlp file is used by the tool (right-clicking on some labels of the tool will bring up parts of this helpfile) but it is not a standard windows help file. With the next version of this tool I will add a new function where you can add new cameras to the CAM file. Hope this will help you. |

And another update V3.05
New functions:
- You can now add new cameras as a copy of the highlighted by pressing CTRL-A - You can set the WP_PERP values by pressing CTRL-P (don't know if you need this function - but I needed it for a special track where these values were not set for the pitlane) Attention: This function assumes that there is no banking at this point. That's all for this release. |

I just created a new AIW for the track I'm building and I have a problem I never had before.
I don't see any groove on the track. When I use the A button in the editor the fast lane become dashed (0 Alpha on all waypoints). ALPHA and GrvLat are 0 in the editor. If I load my original AIW, the Groove Alpha is there. Anyway I can fix that in the editor. What could explain the missing Alpha ? Did I missed someting in the rF AIW editor ? I'm using rFactor, latest patch. Thanks for any help!

Here's a follow up.
I copied some waypoints wp_groove_lat and wp_galpha from my AIW with groove to my grooveless one, and it creates a groove in the game. Any known side effect of doing it manually? I guess I'll write a small program to modify the AIW for groove because changing 400 waypoints manually takes too much time. SOLUTION: A groove editor already exist. GTL Groove Editor by Strava. Works for rFactor too, to tweak the automatic groove. Knowing the root cause of the problem would be great. SOLUTION : In ISI AIW Editor - Unsupported Options / Generate Groove on Save

Congratulations, finding the solution by yourself, but you can generate ALPHA and GrvLat easily with my tool also - you don't have to edit 400 or more waypoints.
Look at the first two lines at the left side beginning with '+'. 1. ALPHA - in the green field you can set the ALPHA-value for the highlighted waypoint - lets say at the middle of the corner. With the two fields left of the green field you can describe the ALPHA-values before the highlighted and the fields right of the green field decribe the values after the highlighted. The R- and R+ fields describes the range of waypoints you want to change and the value fields describes the end ALPHA value at 'RANGE' waypoints away. If you press the '+' sign left of the APLHA label (after you have filled out every field in the line) the ALPHA values are set equaly spaced between the highlighted point and 'RANGE' waypoints away. If you don't want to change the values before or after, just put a 0 in the appropiate range field. There is another help screen if you right-click on the ALPHA-label. 2. Changing GrvLat is analogous. I hope I don't worry you too much with this description. |

Thanks for the information Guitarmaen, I'll give it a try later, it's nicer to use only one tool.
My next step will be to stop some mods AI from crashing in one of my tire barrier. Some makes it clean (Ex: PCC07), some crash at every lap (Ex: ETCC).

No luck...
I wanted to remove one groove. What I did: I selected the waypoint in the middle of the groove I wanted to delete, put 0 in the three value fields (Left, current, right), put 10 in both +R and -R fields and click on + and... nothing. No luck in adding a groove either NOTE: I guess it's your tool that is adding the comment for waypoint number in the file when we save ? Very nice!

Yes, the numbering comes from my tool, but maybe I forgot something important to mention:
You have to press ENTER for every field after you type something into a field and you have to click on the leftmost '+' with the red background. If you want to edit the ALPHA or GrvLat you should activate the visualisation of them with a click on the blue 'A' near the top left corner of the plot area. Then it should look something like this: |
