These F1RFT guys are a joke. Fsone hands, Fsone rims, Fsone Sounds , Bit of Fsone Physics, Want more? All they had to do was ask for premission, and given us credit where it was due. Is that so hard to do?

Based on experience with the fsone mod and looking at the models so much (I love looking at models) I believe that the models are fsone models with parts added on to make them more like the 2008 cars.

I saw it many times at the multiplayer list...what is it? a new mod?

hope not a ripped mod or something alike...if so, sorry about asking.

Long story short: Some guy who reviewed the mod concluded that if all you wanted is drive something which had F1 and 2008 in the name, this would be the mod to have. If you want a F1-mod, check CTDP and MMG.

Personally I still hope they continue their work and make a proper F1-mod. Always support those with ambition and talents.
The F1rFT mod has 3 separate rfm's. There is a league version (same physics)
and two single mod's, one with same physics and one with different. And yes they are modeled after the 2008 season. In fact an update was recently released after the first F1 race, to get the mod up to date.

Legality is questionable. Some claim it takes parts from various mods. Personally I don't know.

Also, it's not half bad either.

Removed.

This thread is about the F1RFT mod and not any other team or mod. Either stay on topic or stay out of it.

Great mod. I like it very much. Can't see why some are flying the copyright flag given the fact that if you so much as publish an F1 skin, you're in breech of copyright. Not to mention all the F1 track conversions. Seems a bit like the pot calling the kettle black.

Yes, it is obvious that you can't see that because copyrights are irrelevant to the issue.

So, what exactly is the issue then if it's not a copyright one ?

The issue is using other people's work without permission because that is considered a no-no among modders. If you aren't a modder you may not understand that but I can assure you that most modders do. That is, the respectful ones do. Those who know how much time and effort it takes to do this stuff and therefore respect the efforts of others.

Uninstalling

Hello,
How do I uninstall the F1RFT 2008 mod? I dont like the fact that it changes all of my screens and takes off my LCD box. Any help in uninstalling would be grateful.

Well all I did was just have to uninstall the car update, the uninstall file was in main rF directory, I then just deleted the rest that was left over. I prefer CTDP05.

And I got MMG07 installed anyway lol...but am hooked on CTDP05 of course. But MMG was good I have it installed to post some Hamilton pics. Ya I prefer mods from the established mod groups now.

Uninstall it if you like but the custom UI only affects the mod it was created for. It has no affect on other mods. As soon as you close F1rFT and restart rFactor with another mod the UI changes to that mods UI or the default rFactor UI if the chosen mod has no custom UI.

So - has this mod been banished to the nether regions of hell or not? If not where can I donwload it? - the link in F Champions post takes me eventually to a site which displays a banner in what looks like eastern european language with no downlaod link or anything like it. If it is out there I would like to give it a try so any other links appreciated

Thanks,

Simon

finally installed and tried, mainly for couriosity..... man this mod is just the Fsone with new cars!. it handles the same, it looks pretty similar, etc., well, it has "arms" , hehe

the best thing of this mod are the tracks, the most of them have the latest layouts.

err...longing for the MMG final release.

Not meaning to cause any fights or anything. But how can anyone play this when the wonderful CTDP05 mod exsists? I can't believe I ever played this! *face redens* lol...

hehe, it is in fact, the most played F1 mod in the net (matchmaker) atm!, as simple as that

agree, CTDP05 & MMG are way better...but, unfortunatelly, not that popular, again, I beleive the package of new cars (models), liveries, talent and finally updated tracks make it be simply more joyable on line.

It is all about the newest F1 cars, or those from 10 years ago. There seems to be not much interest in the F1 cars from 2001 or 2000. Those were the last real years that the cars were simple.
When almost everybody says that F1 cars become more and more ugly, the popularity of them grows.

At least I will be happy driving older cars that are moddeled better. I don't think these 2008 cars look anywere near what CTDP could do. And that counts for both the 3D models and the textures.
