Any suggestions on how to set up the wheel, I mean table height etc.?
I was using a regular office chair with wheels but noticed I moved around too much so I now sit on a regular chair. I also find the pedal angle a little awkward on my Momo Racing kit, working on that.

I've been off F1 sims for a few years now (no laps from me ), I used to have a wheel where the paddles could be used for braking and throttle, I actually liked that but the Momo is way better.

Hi there.At the setup I can't understand what's all that numbers,example:

"[SUSPENSION]
FrontAntiSwaySetting=11
RearAntiSwaySetting=0
FrontToeInSetting=17
RearToeInSetting=22
LeftCasterSetting=58
RightCasterSetting=58
LeftTrackBarSetting=0
RightTrackBarSetting=0
Front3rdPackerSetting=2
Front3rdSpringSetting=8....."and so on

Is this got to do with the fact using a steering wheel?

Excuse my lack off knowledge.

Stupid questions ... if anybody is still around

Hello,

I apologize in advance for a question that may be really stupid.
A friend of mine introduced me to F1 Challenge recently (honestly, the F1 2008 Delux mod).
I had no idea mods existed and I was looking for a good F1 game (believe it or not, every now and then I was still enjoying "Microprose F1 Gran Prix").

Anyway, I start a championship as a beginner. I practice quite a bit before starting the race. I am still gauging the difficulty/realism of the game.
In Australia, with ~1'32" I am about 8 seconds faster than the 2nd.
Obviously, I'll have to change some settings or it's no fun.

I start the race anyway and I think everything is going well. By mid race (I was running 100%, therefore 58 laps) I am almost giving 2 laps to the 2nd.
I had planned 1 stop at mid race.
In lap 29 I can see on the steering wheel that the info is replaced by a sketch of the car and what seem to be the wheels are pink/red.
I didn't think it was much: I assumed it meant the tires were wearing out so the next lap I went in the pit for refuelling and a changing tires.
Surprise: I restart and the sketch is still there.
I keep driving but the car becomes less and less responsive. At first I think it's my fault: more fuel, heavier car, I need to adapt driving style (I had practiced with a full tank), but soon it's obvious that that's not the problem.
I know exactly the breaking points (I have break assist disabled) and I need to start a lot sooner than expected.
I also start noticing that when breaking the car steers right. First is a bit subtle, but in a couple of laps it's just impossible to break and control the car which ends up in a spin if I barely start turning before it's almost stopped.
In 8 laps I lost the 2 laps of advantage I had and I'm being passed quickly.
I did notice that the pink/red tires showed partial yellow at one point. I went in the pit lane again but there was no noticeable change.
I really tried to keep driving but I was spending more time outside the track that racing, so I gave up.
I obviously did something wrong.

So the stupid questions:
1) Does anybody know what happened?
2) What triggers the sketch of the car to show up and how do I interpret it?
3) Is it possible that the tires were not being changed at the pit stop and that I kept driving with worn out tires?

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Yankee.

BTW: I read the guidelines of ForthRight. It's an excellent reading: thank you. I wish I had seen it before I started playing.
