There will be a new great competition with all the best GPL drivers in the world !!
1 race and 1 big prize , probably a PC for the Winner. i'm waiting an answer to the sponsor :-)
Rules
------
i'm thinking about the rules for this great race with these great drivers:
Probably i decide for online qualification . One italian server will be online for 10 days or so , all the people can entry and drive their fast lap, then send to me the lap by email and i will have the classification.
Only the best 48 drivers will be qualificated for 3 races (16+16+16) . The best of these 3 races can race the final.
Now i would only know which drivers are interesting about World Grand Prix , so please add yor reply with your name after my post.
ciao

Nice idea but basically you only stand a chance of winning if you're an alien.

Its a great idea but how about a series of races over those ten days with top finishers moving on instead of the people with the fastest laps because those with the fastest laps are not always the people on the podium. It would give us average drivers at least the chance to participate.

WOW Pierre, how can you drive front straight so much faster than Jojo? You're clearly ahead before T1, but then Jojo is faster in the corners, but who cares...HERE COMES PIERRE AGAIN IN THE FRONT STRAIGHT AND TAKES NEW WR! WOHOO! Can you teach me this? - Ferguson

I'll do it depending on the format and time (can't do long full gp races anymore)

My point is, as unziggy said, that average drivers stand no chance of winning anything.
The winner of the competition is virtually already picked. It'll be somone in the top 20 of GPLrank. Thus, there is little point in anyone else entering. Which seems a little unfair on everyone else. The best driver isn't necessarily the best hotlapper or the fastest driver.

Okay, Reno is in, go home fella's, you will lose like me
lol
Hey leo nice idea, but you could do it even more professional;
3 different races, based on ppl's ranks, you know, one event for the aliens, one for the avarage, and one for the guys which are noob or just havent time to praccy much so their times arent the fastest.
that would be my suggestion, you would have three winners, and the guy which won with biggest gap to the second placed guy will win, so if reno wins in front of wintrip, and kevin wins in front of me, reno with fastest race, as being alien, but kevin had bigger gap to me compared with reno-wintrip, than kev would be the winner
thats my cents

Hi Leo,
I got your email, not sure how I got on that list of talented drivers.
Sounds interesting, I'll give it a go.

Hence the word average.

But this isn't hotlap competition, or did I understand something wrong?

Not sure what's unfair with only the fastest drivers being able to win. Isn't that the point with competition? Surely it is more unfair if a slow driver wins the prize (becaue of pure luck), no?
And only the qualifying is a hot-lap competition, and that's kinda the point with qualifying: To see who is fastest over one lap.
The overall winner will have to be both fast and a great racer - sounds very fair to me.
But before I know if I can join, I must know what date and time the race will be...

What we really need is to plot the race times on a "bell curve"-sorta thing. The winner would then be the one on top of the bell curve!
And let me tell you Mr. Ehnström, you aint got a chance then!

Its nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice.
Out of touch and out of reach. Probably out of my wits too.

With something like this we have the chance to do more than just pick a winner. If there is going to be a dedicated server online for 10 days with the object of finding the best 48 racers to fill the slots, then come on guys lets race.I love the idea of seeing just how far along i could get and getting a lot of great races in the process and with something on the line ill bet alot of others would love to give it a shot aswell. Its a way of involving everyone and after the 48 are chosen let them go for the brass ring the rest of us will at least have had some great races.
