Thanks Leo!

If I want to back to original FFB, could I just remove these 2 files (LeoFFB.ini, LeoFB.dll) from my plugin folder???

just wondering?
you just need to remove the .dll from the plugin folder

Or perhaps he just needs a break from all of us :S Either way, I'm sure he'll be back soon. So let's not jump to conclusions here.........I mean maybe he wanted to end up shipwrecked on that deserted island only to be taken captive by a group of amazon women.... who wouldn't.

We all know you need to change the 1st 3/4 lines in Leo's plugin but is anyone changing any others lines?

I'm now changing the line "Caster (dimetionless)" to reflect what I have set ingame for caster.

I am also trying to work out the "Camber Ratio(not degrees)" from my ingame camber setting but don't know the equation?

I have also upped the "Road Bump" and change the "wheel rubber hardness" accordingly.

Anyone else doing similar?

Also, when I was using'realfeel' we had to set the logitech gaming settings to..
Spring effect 0
Damper effect 0
Centering effect ON but at 0

AND ingame settings were FFB effects to low for 'realfeel' but what about for Leo's?
Anyone changed this setting?
What has everyone else got for these settings?

There seems to be some annoyance due to the fact that the populair BMW E21 Mod doesn't support RealFeel.
I can understand that.. but usually I use Leo's ffb plugin mixed or non-mixed (with Rfeel) anyway.
Try these settings with the E21 for instance:

18.0 Front Wheel lock angle, degrees
0.72 Front wheel distance to centerline
1.075 Front axle distance to body reference point
3.0 Relative strength of FFB effects
9.0 Aligning moment curve shape / feeling of tyre losing grip.
0.99 Negative aligning moment parameter for high slip angles
10.0 Slip angle where aligning moment reverses direction
0.01 Caster (dimetionless)
0.0 Camber ratio (not degrees!)
1.0 Road bumps feeling on the wheel
11500.0 maximum FFB force for stationary and low speed effects
3.0 stiffness of stationary wheels
1.5 wheel rubber hardness (1..5)
8.0 how quickly static forces drop off when rolling

Especially play around with "Aligning moment curve shape"
Try setting it to 2.0 for example..
The 9.0 setting gives me some sort of GPL FFB.. which I happen to like.

I'm using a G25 with 540 degrees rotation btw.

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks Rick. The E21 mod is my favorite right now. I have the ISI FFB on Med with "FFB steer force output max" set to 0.000 in the controler.ini. This gives the caned stuff without steering FFB. The wheel will be completely limp. Then I have RealFeel mixer set to 0 and use Leo's FFB. So this gives the ISI canned stuff for the curbs and Leo's for the steering.

I will try your settings and see how it feels. Thanks.

I don't have time to wade through all these posts, so, could someone please explain what all the settings in the .ini do? Something in plain, non tech, english please.

Thx Rick those settings for the BMW's work fine.

Hello guys!

So what's happening?!

Oops! I have dropped off for awhile from RSC. I am surprised people are still using my little hack I was under the impression that RF has taken it over. Do you know if low speed/static steering forces have been incorporated into RF?

Cheers
Leo

Just to say thanks for this utility Leo. I use 50% RF and 50% LeoFFB for most mods which work in RF, 100% LeoFFB if the mod doesn't work with RF. Personally I would love it if your "little hack" could either be incorporated into RF or if it were improved so that at the very least the .ini file held different values for each type of car.

Woo!

Welcome back, Leo.

I'm afraid I can't offer any sort of help whatsoever, but it'd be grand to see you develop LeoFFB further.

The static/low speed FFB was incorporated into RealFeel however I never released this version publically (I did sent it to Leo). This unreleased version also incorporated Leo's low speed FFB parameters into the RealFeel ini, allowing per mod configuration.

I hear all the screams of 'why didn't you release it!'... the reason was that I discovered (and posted in this thread) that using the RealFeel mixer and LeoFFB together works rather well and if I had LeoFFB and RealFeel with integrated low speed FFB both installed things got rather strange when both LeoFFB and RealFeel tried to output the low speed forces.

Leo, you were planning on sending me the full LeoFFB code so I could integrate that into RealFeel - I never received anything, did you send it? This way I could integrate the LeoFFB parameters into the RealFeel ini to allow per mod configuration.

It will be great, and put an LeoFFB sp?cific part enable/disable to keep pure RealFeel and mixed

I really appreciate Techade`s and Leo`s work.
their plugins brought rFactor-FFB to a new level.
I used to race with realfeel in the past, but know I tried the combination of the 2 plugins and it gets better and better.
Now I get the feeling of the dropping forces in understeering situations which realfeel alone lacks a bit.
It would be really awesome to get those two plugins dropped into one.
Leo wrote that he has less time to support his program any more, so I hope he will pass the code to Techade, so he could implement it in his great realfeel-plugin.

EDIT:
I just tried GP79 using LEO?s FFB only and I must say I am very impressed.
I must admit that I like it more than the mixed version with realfeel!
awesome blast.the car really fights for grip!love it!
Please Leo hold your great work!or if you do not have enough time : please pass the code to techade where it is surely in good hands.

Leo good plug in.

I have spend some time making some .ini files for the mods I have. And I really like the feel. I now finaly can feel what the car is doing.

Good job, and I wouldn't mind you expanding the plugin a bit...although it works fine as it is.

One question? If I change the mod in game can I change the ini or do I have to drop out of rFactor?

Cheers,

Marc

LeoFFB works with every wheel and every mod, but you have to tweak it.
