Happy [cir] Alastaron Moottorirata (Finland) Real.

Keywords - Real circuit, Finland, Circuit, Alastaro, Flat, Medium length raceway

This is my real life conversion of the Alastaro race track in Finland. I'm hoping that its a good conversion, but considering there's plenty of Finnish members here, perhaps you can tell me.

Anyway, I think its a good fun and realistic track, if a little easy, but certainly worth a download.
Also try and compare it to the aerial photos attached.

Looks very good with that dithering, the rounded layout fits well to GeneRally

The AI hits the inside wall in T1 after the start (only in the race). Maybe you could but some haybales there.

Dissapointed

Oh. 9 views .Well thats disappointing. Can I ask, do I get no comments and only 9 views for a reason? Is there something wrong with this track? I'll tell you. Firstly it is a good representation of the real life circuit Alastaro Moottorirata, and the land map is tried and tested. Then secondly the objects were placed, and, as in real life, it is set in a pine tree area. Thirdly I added some non-real touches to make the track more fun to race on, as if I kept it real it would not have been so fun. And finally, it has lots of small touches and lots of effort has gone in to it!!

Also I've seen some really rubbish tracks around here getting some comments, so I wonder. Is there something about the name of this thread or my username that prevents you from clicking here? (Sorry to all people who've already downloaded.). My track is not perfect, so there should be some feedback!! Please...

So, I guess you shouldbe able to understand why I'm so pissed off...

BTW, just comment on the track here, OK? Nothing else! Reason I don't comment on GR tracks too much? I'm quite a large member at a rally forum, where I post a lot (Speed Freak) So GeneRally is just a small... extra for me and you guys...

Cheers Raibe! I'm going to change that now. I've also noticed at turn 6 the AI drivers can hit the tyres on the inside...

I've just tested it.....and I like it...
I specialy like that the pits are on the right side of the track...because the other Alastaro track i have has the pits-entrance just before the last corner...and the exit at the end of that corner.

It drives nice....Keep up the good work
(I tested alone without any A.I. drivers so I can't comment on that)

This is a very good track, Speed Freako!

It actually is seen that there was much effort put into it!
Usually, screenshot tells me if to download this track or not(and actually it gives me an idea what i'm gonna comment if I downloaded the track)...And this track looks great!

Definitely will keep this one!
Keep it up

Well, I don't know if I would have answered if you didn't complained about a lack of feedback, but anyway here we go:

I think it's a nice, well made track. The atmosphere is good and meets the RL landscape.
Things you could have made better are T1-T2 (you melted these turns into one), the straights surrounding T5 straighter (they look wavy), put the pit area where it is in RL (besides the last 3 turns) and maybe the last turn a bit cleaner (or wider; at least don't put tarmac between the area of the two ways). Furthermore I don't really like the skidmarks you put you added in the turns, but since the track I built ATM also shall get some I am quiet. But maybe you could make them a bit more skidmark like and not so splodge like. Last but not least: The tarmac way leading to the wood is too broad IMO.

You see, it's not a pleasure to receive comments from me, since I am Mr. nitpicking. But overall a good track (atmosphere is an important factor and you made a perfect one. Well, okay the trees in the inner area could be even less, but... )

Well, due to lack of space etc. and to avoid turn 3 being too tight, I decided it was best to have T1 and T2 like this. After all, I felt it may not be quite the super accurate Alastaro model (I'll leave that to someone else) but it is a fun Alastaro GeneRally representation!
I can't see no wavyness, but I'll take a look.
The pits are where they are because, due to the tightness of what I had already made and the fact I'm quite rubbish at making GR pitlanes, I thought I'd put it on the straight bit, which also improves pitting.
As for the skidmarks? I set the AI cars running for 10 minutes, took a screenie and used the real marks, which look like splodges. Anyway, if you race 5-6 cars for 5 or more laps it'll all be covered up! :P
