Grinning [cir][rl] Roebling Road Raceway

roebling road raceway, bloomingdale, georgia, real life, formula, tuomoh

Roebling Road Raceway is my third proper attempt at creating a real life race track (unless you want to count my Indy Heat conversions as well). I've stayed as faithful to my source material as possible - that means just little hmap and not much scenery apart from the trees. And no, there are no stands! The AI line was designed for Formula.

Check the original site www.roeblingroad.com for more information.

Btw, is there anyone who actually knows this place?

Comments and criticism appreciated

I really don't know about this track. Its sending me mixed signals. On one hand its a very nice representation of the track and the scenery around it. Its not too bland at all as you had described.

My quantry comes with the world size of the track. Everything I see when going from the pic to how the track drives in game says the track should be using a bigger world size but then I also see that the formula just tops out about 3/4 of the way down the main straight. Did you have that problem when you were making the track? It would have driven me crazy.

For that fact I think you have done a fantastic track here. You have hit the nail right on the head of finding a median of drivability and also creating a true recreation.

good job all around from me. 4.5/5!!

Another narrow track, another non-keeper. Enough said.

Well, it is narrow, but it makes a nice hotlapping track. Tried it with Formula and Ms's '70s cars, it was very nice. The only thing that irks me is the 'multiple tyres', just one would do the trick. Placing tyres one on top of the other makes you jump even higher when you hit them - argh!

Thanks for the comments, guys

Yeah, I know it's a narrow track, I gues I should've warned you beforehand. I actually started with world size 180 but changed it to 190 to make it a bit wider. Didn't want to go any further after that as now it's about perfect for my own use.

When it comes to the double tyres, I totally understand your grief, -cbfs-. When I started putting them up I thought that single tyres didn't show up that good. You just have to be on your toes, or alternately, you can always take the extra tyres away for your own use.

Anything else?

Some tracks should be wide, some should be narrow. I like a good narrow track now and then for variety and challenge. If I wanted nothing but wide, I'd drive exclusively at Sepang and Burke Lakefront Airport.

Another good looking track from TuomoH. It's narrow, yes, but it drives nicely. I like it.

Thanks for the comments, mates I have to admit that I'm not sure about how the track is in real life, I just seem to like relatively narrow tracks at this point, such as Brno - now, that was a narrow track

Still something to add?

Looks darn good man The layout looks great like the track in real life. The double tires don't bother me too much (going wide anyway)

Keep up the good work

cheers

Thank you The layout was actually easy to recreate, the real track is quite geometric after all. It was fun making a real life track conversion after all these fantasy tracks.
