[RL][Cir] Adelaide

Well I was inspired to make this track for two reasons. First off it was the V8 race this weekend, secondly it was the fact that I wanted to make a track and I hadn't for so long made one.

So here it is, Adelaide, my first real "real life" track. (Eastern creek karts doesn't count cause its a kart track).

I couldn't find many pictures of the track to make it accurate so i was glued to the TV all day flicking back to the track to make improvements to the realism. I think all the the kerbs are in the propper position and also the hay bales (tyre walls) are in the right place too. Outside of the track all of the stands are right and also the surrounding stalls (booths). The ovals are real too, the little stands I wouldn't have a clue. The city scape I took a little fantasy work and I feel you can see alot of my style in this little bit, especially with how it blends with my city tracks.

I hope you enjoy this little track, furthermore I wish you could give me suggestions on how to make this track better as i really would like to get better at making real life tracks as I did find this really enjoyable. Its fantastic to see it take shape and start to look like the real thing.

That's a fantastic conversion!! A lot better than the last version i had! The track is a tad narrow but i think it fits for a street tracks, i guess. Nominated.

except for the fact that there are only 2 ovals in the middle, you did quite well mate. 5/5

on a side note, does anyone know where i could get a map with the proposed changes they were concidering in the horserace course section around the time of the le mans race?

It's truly fantastic. A bit too hard for my taste, but it looks nice. When I compared it to previous Adelaide I had in tracks folder... Bah'...

5 stars

Wow, very good looking circuit. Looks to me like the best Adelaide I've seen, and just in time for the v8 Supercars race.

Nice to see a real-life track from you!
I'm not sure that's the best recreation of the track, but this one is the most realistic! Good job!

Both of the track maps I have show that there are 3 ovals in the infield. Where are you getting your information from?

To everyone else thank you for your very kind comments. Are there any suggestions to improve the drivability? People have been saying that its a bit too hard.

Just beautiful - one of the best street tracks in ages. Haven't tested with the AI yet but other than that, it's just brilliant - I love it

Looks great, drives great!

AI could be better and a couple walls smoothed out though.

But no biggie really, great track!

Thanks everyone for you comments and for downloading the track!

This is my first Circuit to get over 100 downlaods.

Where abouts do the walls need to be fixed up?

from actually being there for the grand prix in 1993 and 1995. if you look closely, it says support race paddock, meaning it is for the cars etc for the support races. it would just be a fenced off area. in 95, this was more on wakfield street, not far behind the pits. if you look on an adelaide street directory, you will see that there is only 2 ovals

great track .....
in fact, it's so great, i've just added it to my tracklist for my *WORLD EXCLUSIVE* GENERALLY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2005!!!

in fact, it's even better than that ..... it's added to ALL SEVEN classes of car i will be racing!!!!!!

that's right, formula, cart, nascar, f3000, indy, motogp and irl .....

but i did tweek it a bit ..... the third 90degree corner, i cutoff the concrete corner, as some racers were clipping it, and i too out the tyre in the next one too ..... which makes for a faster section IMO

the other tweeks i did was widen the AI line on the second-last corner, and shortened the pit AI line and sharpened the turn into the pits (adding a softwall at that point)

i was going to use another Adelade track, but this one is much better (and longer) .....

been trememdously busy recently with setting up GRWC2005 .....

You did a good job with your first real life track. You should be proud now - you got the first ToM award for Australia

Thanks alot for running this competition GeorgM and Aeon!! Thank you again to all of those who voted ofr this track.

The Medal is amazing, I havn't ever had a close look at it. It actually has a screen shot of Adelaide in it. Someone in the ToM fraternity has a lot of talent!!!
