--->New Movie<--- "Grand Prix Glory"

This wasn't meant to end up as a whole movie. It started out with a new plugin for Premiere and a little idea yesterday and ended up being a couple of minutes long and pretty much as a full movie. I was just fiddling around trying to make something that was pretty much the opposite to anything i'd done before. Mellow music, black & white old film cinema visuals, hand held camera with plenty of engine noise. It ended up ok so I thought I might as well make it available.

Grand Prix Glory

I have just uploaded a fixed version which gets rid of the colored frame flicker in the middle of the film

Yes Jas, I love it!
It gives you a real feeling of being there, more so than keep it real, especially with the camera work, the old film, even down to the little touches like the helicopter sound. Great work, very unique, very beautiful!

One of a kind!

Congrats
Ox

Thanks Oz, the helicopter isn't my idea though, i stole it from the guys that made The Red of Night . I just had to add some sort of sound to that bit because it was too quiet.

Utterly beautiful!
Superb camerawork and the music fits perfectly with the mood and style. Who's it by?

BTW, one single colour frame at 1.27ish but I'm sure no-one will notice

I noticed, I tried several times to get rid of it with no success. Each render of the movie was an hour with that pluging so I gave up after a few goes. I might try and fix it tomorrow when my patience has returned. Oh, and music is Tears in the Rain by Joe Satriani

Thumbs Up

That's great work Jason!

I've actually been working on something very similar, with the B&W and I think the same plugin (it really does take hours to render doesn't it) and kind of mellow music too, but it's gonna take awhile before mine is finished since I don't have the replays I need yet.

Edit: I even had a similar title on mine!

Keep 'em coming!

Beautiful job Jason!

Ive seen movies before that were done with simillar black and white techniques, but they end up looking like a computer generated image with an old film quality effect added. kind of contradicts each other, dont you think?

Your movie was the first one ive seen that does an excellent job of combining a computer image with "black and white" film. Looks very realistic! Im impressed!

Edit: should have looked up to find out what song was used....

Great work Jase!

A real departure from the feel of your other films! Has quite a melancholy feel to it which I really like, and your camerawork is brilliant as usual. Top stuff buddy!

Downloading now... (from work )

I've always wondered why people bother to zip down movies though... How many bytes does one save?

(Having it in the regular format also makes it more tolerant for small errors during downloading I guess...)
