Glad y'all liked it -

@dzz, Hehe it's better than most of the fare in the Sunday comics LOL (i.e. "Rose is Rose" ROTFL!).

@robbie33, That's not really a track per-say, by rather an artsy type thing that I created using Bendito's track viewer. Check the "GeneRally National Park" pics on my GR Stuff web page LOL -

The links on my GR Stuff page to the pics load fine for me - (GeneRally National Park 1, 2, and 3).

Prolly won't be making any more comics, that was simply something that I was twiddling around with a while back (when I was initially setting up MS Chat LOL).

Glad ya liked it LOL -

The "last updated" line had been implemented since day-one of my GR Stuff page - As far as the Star Trek stuff links, I don't have any pages that link to them... got quite a bit of my stuff on the Internet have absolutely NO links to it all... such as this LOL!

P.S. Had two more folks using XP try the pages that are using the "EMBED" command, no probs at all (?).

Very nice.

I think this comic strip is the greatest GeneRally one yet... (of course it might be one of only a few comics)

BTW, in case anyone is wondering, MS Chat shipped with Windows 98/98SE (not sure about 2K or ME), and is a full-featured IRC chat client (similar to, and with features similar to mIRC).

One additional feature is "comic strip" mode (the older versions of MS Chat wer called "MS Comic Chat", and it's hillarious IRCing when that mode is enabled LOL! - see attached pic...

I did a Google search and found downloads for Microsoft Chat available here:

http://www.mermeliz.com/cchat.htm

It's basically one page that has a bunch of different languages; the downloads themselves are from Microsoft's website (or at least the one I downloaded was).

EDIT3: (Yes, there used to be an EDIT and EDIT2) I figured out how to connect to the #racesimcentral server - type in irc.boomtown.net for the server. (Duh!)
I was thinking that the options in the drop-down box were the only ones available.

@SR, Yep, Mermaid's site is a good one for resources for MS Chat. Also, try http://www.phoenix-online.org, http://kewps.com, and http://www.bmp2bgb.com -

@GN, Sorry, but any track that I've previously created specifically for taking a screenshot with (such as the National Park ones, as well as the "GeneRally Textured Billboards and Sky" one) unfortunately I've already deleted... I've never saved any of those tracks after creating the screenie (check my GR Stuff page for those pics, link is in my sig below).

Like to whap myself upside the head too LOL, as I'd really like to have seen the Billboards one in Bendito's track viewer program (I made that screenshot eons ago, before he created the track viewer). Hehe, I realize that the billboards and sky wouldn't have been textured (like they are in the pic) when viewing viewing it in the track viewer, but the track itself would look exceptionally cool IMHO -

EDIT#1 (only *one* for me, SR LOL!):

@All, if ya don't have mIRC or another IRC client, and want to chat on the #generally IRC channel, simply download MS Chat from HERE (installation file, direct from Microsoft). If you have Windows 98/SE (not sure about 2K/ME/XP though), MS Chat already comes with that OS... simply "Start/Settings/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs/Windows Setup/Communications/Microsoft Chat 2.5" -

Hehe, a little "Easter Egg" in MS Chat v2.5 LOL...

1 - Start Microsoft Chat and press "Cancel" on the "Chat Connection" window.

2 - Type "WhoIsTheGenius?" (minus the quotes, no carriage return, exact case).

3 - Press and hold CTRL and SHIFT, and then press the "Open Favorites" button.

...alright, just noticed that you had the same idea as me but even earlier.
Always wondered what that thread title "no Exit - Starring Joe and Schmoe!" meant but never clicked it, should have done so I guess. anyway, I think the chucky checker story MUST be told!!

Is it just me, or is Joe and Schmoe more of an advertisment than a comic....?

Light Bulb MS Chat Sounds and Scripts

Attached to this post is a ZIP containing several WAV format sound effects and handy rule scripts for use with MS Chat. To use the sounds and scripts:

1 - Unzip MS_Chat_Sounds_and_Scripts.zip to a directory on your hard drive.

2 - In MS Chat select "View/Options", click on the "Settings" tab, and add the folder where you unzipped the files to in the "Sound search path" dialog box.

3 - Select "View/Automation", click on the "Rule Sets" tab, click on the "Open Set" button directly to the right of the "Add a rule set from a file" dialog, and then select the "Sounds.crs" file from within the folder where you unzipped the files to.

The next time that you run MS Chat and login to the #generally IRC chat room, you'll hear several handy event triggered sound effects within the chat room -
