Grinning [stc] Oak Meadows

oak meadows, formula, street course, tuomoh

I noticed that I haven't designed a street course in ages and since I'm a street course lover, I just had to give it another go (I started this before the latest good street course releases).

Notice that there aren't any hay bales inside the corners, so apart from two corners you will damage your car if you cut too much. AI isn't perfect but does moderately well. Anyway, I'd suggest that you do not use much damage. The AI line's been designed for Formula.

You probably don't notice any hmap changes apart from two places but the hmap does change a bit all the time. If this was a real life track, the height difference would be around two meters.

I hope you enjoy this track It'd be very nice to hear some comments and criticism

Danger

You nasty Tuomo, you! Just when I thought my street track had a chance*, you release this! Bad bad bad boy!

No seriously, there was a loud thud as my jaw hit the floor when I looked at the screenie. There was no loud thud when I actually played on it because I simply didn't bother putting my jaw back - I simply knew what was coming!

You want beauty? It's got it!
You want a challenge? Yeah, eat the AI's dust ha-ha!
You want a ToM vote??? Damn sure you got it!

I can't remember being so excited about a track for quite some time now!

*: Dude seriously, this reminds me of the 'oval boom' some time ago! Seems like I'll have to convert it to something else.

This is one very beautiful example of a street circuit. I really like how you have dithered the zebra crossings . . . It gives the track a really nice feel and the road markings don't jump out at you like on other tracks.

Drivability is good too. That long back straight gives you a nice lil break from the frantic left right of the mid course.

The only thing I am not a fan of is the pits. I'll have to think of a way that they could be fixed because i don't have one now.

Thanks a lot or the nice words, everybody

@-cbfs-: Forgot to say that go ahead and finish your street course, I'm sure it's a good one as well It's actually funny that you say that since this track was partly inspired by your style - even if only just little!

@Mikey B: You're right: Those zebra crossings really jumped out at you when I first added them, that's why I added some dithering as well. When it comes to the pits, do you mean that you don't like the exit part with those booth buildings and strategically placed lights? I wasn't too keen on that either but had to do something to make the pit lane slower. Eventually I really started digging it, though. The only thing that bothers me there is that it must be the place where the AI loses the most. Oh, and I like the back straight as well - it does give you a bit of relaxing time even though it isn't exactly a walk in the park. It's the best overtaking spot if I'm not mistaken.

Anything else?
